Tommy and Beverly Lake, together with their sons, Tom, Shane,
and Bill, began making kitchen and bathroom cabinets for a few
customers in their garage 15 years ago. The business began strictly
as a family enterprise to provide employment for their, then,
pre-teen sons. As the business grew and the long-term interest
by family members grew, the decision was made to expand. The
business has continued to grow incrementally for the past fifteen
years.
In 2001, Twin Oaks Custom Cabinets, Inc. decided the timing
was right for another major expansion and built a 45,000 square
foot manufacturing plant along with 6,400 square foot in showrooms
and offices. Along with increased production from new state-of-the-art
equipment, the company expects to expand its workforce by about
15 people to make a total of approximately 50-55 employees within
the next 12-15 months.
Twin Oaks offers personal customer service with one-on-one computer
draftsmen who work with a customer to customize every detail.
The computer drawings allow the customer to preview their cabinetry
and decide if changes need to be made. The draftsmen are glad
to work with individuals looking for beauty and function alone
or those desiring to be creative in a unique kitchen design.
As members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association, we
endeavor to provide the utmost in professional service and quality.
Although about 85% of the clientele of Twin Oaks Custom Cabinets,
Inc. are within a 75-mile radius of the Neosho/Joplin area,
the company has recently experienced expansion into markets
in the Tulsa, Wichita, and Colorado Springs areas. They now
offer a variety of cabinetry for the home or office in about
any wood species and multiple finishes. All the latest in cabinet
accessories can be included according to personal tastes.
The Lake Family, as owners of Twin Oaks Custom Cabinets, Inc.
appreciate the opportunity to build this business in the beautiful
Ozarks. They have found this area a wonderful place to call
Home and enjoy meeting and making friends with the
fine people of the four-states. A special thanks is extended
to the local contractors, friends, and neighbors who have used
the services of Twin Oaks and it is hoped the new facility will
be a means to better serve this community.
